THE POPM PHILOSOPHY

Your body is a whole.
Your practice should be, too.

There is a difference between moving individual parts and learning how they work together. POPM explores that difference through the internal arts: attention, coordination, and a more connected way to move.

From understanding to experience

Less unnecessary effort.
More attention to what matters.

Start with what you can feel. Notice the relationship between your feet, your posture, and your movement. Then bring that understanding into practice.

01Notice

Learn to recognize where you hold tension and how you organize yourself over your feet. Observation gives your practice a starting point.

02Connect

Explore how shifting weight, turning the trunk, and moving the arms can become a coordinated action. Work patiently with simple movements.

03Apply

Bring the practice into the movement you care about, from martial arts and dance to the golf swing. Observe, adjust, and practice again.

THE KNOW YOURSELF SERIES

A deeper understanding
begins with a better question.

Three books by Joey Nishad and Rob Liberti, exploring the meeting point of internal arts and contemporary explanations of movement.

Begin a conversation

A practitioner's perspective.

Rob Liberti is a veteran practitioner of the Japanese internal martial arts, with a continuing interest in the Chinese traditions.

His work asks what these traditions share, where they differ, and what a practitioner must actually change to develop a more connected body.

With Joey Nishad, he co-authors the Know Yourself series. POPM Power Lab brings that spirit of inquiry into practice.

Meet Rob through his books
